Arsenal in talk to buy Zinchenko from Manchester City.

Arsenal are prepared to shop at Manchester City for a second time this summer as they negotiate a possible deal for Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.

Gabriel Jesus has already left the Premier League champions for the Emirates Stadium, and now Gunners boss Mikel Arteta - Pep Guardiola's former assistant at City - has identified Zinchenko as one of his top targets.

City are reportedly open to selling the versatile Ukrainian, but Arsenal are yet to meet their valuation.

Arsenal turned to Zinchenko after missing out on Ajax's Lisandro Martinez, Ornstein adds. Martinez is expectedto join Manchester United. Arsenal are also considering a move for Anderlecht's Sergio Gomezand could sell Nuno Tavaresif they land a left-back, The Guardian's Fabrizio Romanoreports.

Zinchenko, 25, joined City from FC Ufa for around €2 million in 2016. He was recognized as an attacking midfielder when he arrived in Manchester but has been regularly deployed at left-back during his time under Guardiola. For Ukraine, Zinchenko often orchestrates the team from midfield.

Arsenal have already brought in Jesus, Fabio Vieira, and Brazilian teenager Marquinhos this summer. Matt Turner also joined up with Arteta's squad after his transfer from the New England Revolution was agreed midway through the 2021-22 season.

City were already in the market for a new left-back before news surfaced of Arsenal's interest in Zinchenko. Marc Cucurella, who won both the fans' and players' versions of Brighton & Hove Albion's Player of the Season award in his first campaign with the Seagulls, is linked with a switch to the Etihad Stadium.
