Croatia Holds Morocco To Claim Third place at the World Cup || Media Pillow Sports

Croatia is back on the World Cup podium.

Zlatko Dalic's team secured third place on Saturday in Qatar, defeating Morocco 2-1 in an entertaining contest to claim another tournament medal.

After defenders Josko Gvardiol and Achraf Dari exchanged early headers during a chaotic two-minute sequence, Mislav Orsic delivered a delightful goal in the 42nd minute that stood up as the winner.

Croatia, making just its sixth appearance in the World Cup as an independent nation, has now finished third on two separate occasions to go along with its runner-up spot from four years ago in Russia.

Morocco's fourth-place finish, meanwhile, is the best-ever for an African country at the World Cup.
