Betts Latest To Join Star-Studded Team USA For 2023 WBC

An already loaded Team USA received another boost Thursday as Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star outfielder Mookie Bettscommitted to representing the U.S. in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

Betts joins team captain Mike Trout, reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper, and St. Louis Cardinals teammates Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado among those on the defending champions' stacked roster.

This will mark Betts' first appearance at the World Baseball Classic. The 29-year-old is putting together another strong season for the Dodgers. Betts owns an .873 OPS with 27 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases across 105 games.

Team USA will open its tournament at Chase Field in Phoenix. The U.S. will take on Mexico, Canada, Colombia, and a to-be-determined opponent in the first round, which runs from March 11-15.
