Arsenal reaches £45M deal over Manchester City Forward, Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal have agreed to a guaranteed transfer fee of £45 million with Manchester City for forward Gabriel JesusThe Guardian's Fabrizio Romanoreports.

The Gunners reportedly have yet to agree on personal terms with Jesus but are now negotiating independently with the 25-year-old.

Mikel Arteta's side identified the Brazilian attacker as one of their top targets of the summer window, a period in which they've already secured the signings of young midfielder Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, Brazilian winger Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, and goalkeeper Matt Turner from the New England Revolution.

Jesus, who scored 13 goals across 41 appearances in all competitions last season, is likely to lead a revamped Arsenal front line in 2022-23 following the departure of longtime starter and former captain Alexandre Lacazette, who returned to Lyon after his contract expired in June.

With academy product Eddie Nketiah signing a new long-term deal earlier this month, Jesus is expected to be Arsenal's first-choice striker, with the 23-year-old Nketiah providing Arteta a talented option off the bench.

Jesus had been deemed surplus by City following the signing of striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old Norwegian cost the Citizens a €60-million transfer fee.
