Real Madrid are the kings of European football. Again.
The Spanish giants claimed a record-extending 14th European Cup on Saturday, holding off Liverpool 1-0 in a tense Champions League final. Despite being under pressure for much of the contest, Carlo Ancelotti's side capitalized on its lone shot on target when Vinicius Junior tapped the ball into an open net in the 59th minute after a low driven cross from Fede Valverde.
Thibaut Courtois turned aside nine Liverpool shots at the Stade de France, including a spectacular late save on Mohamed Salah to preserve Madrid's victory and help the club extend its record of European Cup triumphs.
