Real Madrid extended Manchester City's wait for European glory in dramatic fashion after mounting a late comeback Wednesday to win 3-1 in extra time and reach the Champions League final with a stunning 6-5 aggregate victory.
After Riyad Mahrez's second-half strike gave the visitors a 5-3 aggregate lead, Rodrygo rescued Real Madrid from elimination with two last-gasp goals to force extra time. Karim Benzema then sent the Santiago Bernabeu into a frenzy with a 95th-minute penalty to seal the Spanish club's place in the Champions League showpiece later this month.
The 13-time European champions will take on Liverpool on May 28 in a rematch of the 2018 final when Real Madrid won their most recent Champions League title.
More to come.
